REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

· Background in engineering within a CNC and screw machine setting

· Experience in leadership roles, providing guidance, teamwork, and training to peers (not necessarily in direct supervisory positions)

· Strong verbal and written communication abilities

· Proficiency in AutoCAD or Solidworks

· Advanced understanding of blueprints and GD&T

· Familiarity with APQP documentation

· Expertise in CNC machinery (mandatory); knowledge of Fanuc / Siemens controllers, programming with CAM software, and CNC turning (up to 5-6 axis) and milling (up to 4-axis)

· Knowledge of screw machines (highly preferred); familiarity with ACME Gridley

· Experience in enhancing machining processes: cycle times, speeds and feeds, and prolonging machine lifespan

· CNC grinding experience (highly preferred); knowledge of centerless grinding

· Proficient in processing, programming, and setting up initial runs on multi-axis mills or lathes / swiss type lathes.

· Experience with CAD/CAM software

· Capability to document engineering data, standard operating procedures, process sheets, and setup instructions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Lead and coordinate teams focused on process enhancements related to tooling and production methodologies.

· Engage in product launches from inception to completion.

· Oversee engineering tasks including planning, procurement, programming, and installation of equipment/machining.

· Validate process improvements and equipment performance.

· Review product designs to ensure adherence to company, customer, and industry standards.

· Determine the most suitable machine tools for specific applications.

· Assist in estimating costs for tooling, work holding, and necessary components.

· Calculate feeds, speeds, chip loads, and cycle times.

· Develop concepts for work holding fixtures and tooling.

· Set up, troubleshoot, optimize, and validate processes before transitioning to production.

· Prepare comprehensive setup sheets, work instructions, and tool lists.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage engineers and CNC programmers or technicians.
  • Plan assignments, establish goals, and set objectives.
  • Allocate resources, schedule team members, and assign tasks.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and customer requirements.
  • Recommend advancements in technology and software.
  • Collaborate with other managers to develop strategic plans and objectives for the division.
  • Oversee or lead significant technical projects, monitoring objectives, timelines, and programs.
