High Voltage Lineworker

As a High Voltage Lineworker at Public Service Enterprise Group Inc, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair work on transmission and distribution lines, including work on iron poles, isolated towers, and mats or vaults. You will also be responsible for checking the general operation of assigned vehicles and associated equipment. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires a strong understanding of electrical systems and a commitment to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform maintenance and repair work on transmission and distribution lines, including work on iron poles, isolated towers, and mats or vaults
* Check the general operation of assigned vehicles and associated equipment
* Respond to off-hour work and may be required to work shifts outside of the normal workday
Requirements
* Must meet the Company's General Requirements
* Must have successfully completed a recognized apprentice program and be a first-class journeyman lineperson
* Must be able to perform maintenance and repair work safely and without causing interruption to service
* Must have a good practical knowledge of the purpose and functioning of the overhead transmission and distribution system, and the electrical apparatus used in connection therewith
Working Conditions
This position requires working at heights, in inclement weather, and in a fast-paced environment. You must be able to climb and work on structures and poles, and be able to follow instructions and perform routine operations. A valid Class 'A' Commercial Driving License (CDL) is preferred but a valid Class 'B' CDL candidate (21 years or older) will be considered and must prepare for and pass the Class 'A' CDL driving test within the first year of employment.
