Role Significance

As a Loan Modification Analyst, you are essential in ensuring that borrowers' requests for loan modifications are handled with efficiency, precision, and a strong focus on customer service, all while protecting the interests of the bank. Your expertise has a direct impact on our clients and furthers Live Oak's goal of being America's Small Business Bank. Specifically:
  • Essential Guidance: You assist borrowers throughout the loan modification process, working closely with external partners and various internal departments to achieve timely and sound outcomes.   • Timeliness and Precision: You enhance Live Oak's capacity to manage loan modifications efficiently and accurately, ensuring a positive experience for borrowers while safeguarding the bank's interests.
  • Risk Management: By carefully evaluating loan modification requests and accompanying documentation, you help mitigate potential risks to the bank. Your meticulous attention to detail upholds our high standards and ensures compliance with both bank and governmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will undertake several important tasks:
  • Clear Communication: Interact directly with borrowers, external partners, and internal teams to establish clear expectations regarding the modification process.
  • Comprehensive Assessment: Evaluate borrowers' financial situations, current collateral, loan terms, and structures in relation to the modification requests, ensuring accuracy and sound judgment.
  • Documentation Preparation: Draft and submit loan modification credit memoranda to the Credit Administration for approval, addressing potential risks and critical details.
  • Team Collaboration: Lead and support servicing teams throughout the approval process, promoting teamwork and efficiency.
How You Will Succeed
  • Exhibit outstanding customer service, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of current modification requirements and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct detailed reviews and apply your expertise and judgment to confirm the eligibility of modified loan structures.
  • Make timely and independent credit decisions within the approved authority for specific modification requests.
  • Perform due diligence tasks, including checking for outstanding exceptions and evaluating third-party appraisals when necessary.
  • Review and analyze documents related to each loan modification request, such as purchase agreements and leases.
  • Effectively manage a pipeline to meet quality and customer service standards.
  • Adhere to requirements related to BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC to prevent unlawful activities.
  • Stay updated by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and benchmarking best practices.
Qualifications
  • 4-6 years of experience in Commercial, Transactional, or Banking roles is required.
  • Experience with SBA loans, corporate documentation, and legal loan documentation is essential.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is necessary.
