POSITION SUMMARY
The main duty of this role is to assist in the management of the food warehouse at One More Child, ensuring efficient organization, stocking, and selection of food items, as well as packaging food boxes and pallets for community clients. This position involves loading and unloading pallets of products from delivery trucks using pallet jacks and forklifts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the Compassion Director in the operational activities of the warehouse, including accepting food donations from various suppliers and partners.
• Aid in the organization and stocking of warehouse shelves and pallet racks.
• Ensure adherence to safe food handling practices and compliance with food defense protocols.
• Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation, metric documentation, and database utilization.
• Help distribute food to local soup kitchens and food pantries.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards within the food warehouse.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff and volunteers for any necessary pickups or deliveries.
• Support volunteer groups participating in the Compassion Center activities.
• Follow established protocols for daily operations to promote productivity, safety, and cleanliness.
• Ensure confidentiality in all interactions with donors, clients, and families, except where legally required to disclose.
• Availability to work on Saturdays as needed.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Compassion Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Successfully pass all required background checks.
• Good physical mobility for bending, reaching, and lifting items up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated patience and a positive demeanor.
