ROLE SUMMARY:

The Aerospace Coating Specialist is responsible for preparing and applying coatings to aircraft in accordance with both manufacturer and client specifications. This role also involves mentoring and developing less experienced painters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Protect aircraft surfaces by applying masking materials prior to the application of stripping agents.
  2. Utilize paint removers and sanding techniques to prepare aircraft surfaces as necessary.
  3. Thoroughly clean and prepare aircraft using approved cleaning agents.
  4. Apply primer to aircraft surfaces in preparation for subsequent sanding processes.
  5. Design and apply decorative elements, including stripes and graphics, based on client-approved designs, ensuring aircraft are ready for delivery.
  6. Communicate any issues or additional work requirements to the Paint Project Supervisor.
  7. Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Paint Manager or Paint Foreman.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred, along with 8-10 years of experience in painting corporate or VIP aircraft.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Proficient in writing basic correspondence and effectively presenting information in small group settings.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to comprehend simple instructions and correspondence. Capable of writing basic correspondence and presenting information clearly to clients and colleagues.

MATH SKILLS:

This position requires the ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, as well as applying basic algebra and geometry concepts.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and to address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Familiarity with order processing software is required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

This role may involve varied work shifts and overtime as needed. Adherence to company appearance standards is mandatory.
