House Supervisor

Valley Springs Behavioral Health Hospital, a state-of-the-art hospital operated jointly with Lifepoint Behavioral Health and Baystate Health, seeks a skilled and experienced House Supervisor (RN) to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage scheduling and staffing of the nursing department, ensuring adequate coverage of shifts and minimizing the use of agency staff and overtime.
- Monitor staff attendance, maintaining accurate records of tardiness, absences, and staff leaving early or staying late, and assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in the execution of payroll.
- Provide backup nursing and intake assistance for patients, assist patients with their requests and needs, and act as a patient advocate.
- Oversee the entire hospital operation during the absence of administration, ensuring performance, maintaining schedules, and completing education and coaching when necessary.
- Complete evaluations and deliver disciplines within the nursing department in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist the DON in conducting department meetings and ensure accurate documentation of staff attendance, creating minutes of meetings as needed.
- Assist in the intake department as necessary and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of regulatory standards, including TJC, Medicaid, state, and federal laws.
- Perform conflict resolution and mediation with staff, seeking assistance from the DON, Intake Manager, and HR when necessary.
- Complete investigations in a thorough and timely manner, ensuring accurate information collection and providing necessary reporting or staff follow-up.
- Display a thorough nursing knowledge, including assessments, treatment planning, discharge and admission procedures, medication distribution, and medical care, and personally deliver RN patient care as needed.
- Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients preferred.
- License: Current unencumbered license to practice by the State Board of Nursing, valid driver's license preferred.
- Additional Requirements: CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days, must be at least 21 years of age, and may be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
