Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, CA. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Main Operating Room, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our team of exceptional healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a full range of surgical/operating room technician services, including performance as a scrub technician, passing instruments to surgeons and/or surgical assistants, and assisting circulating nurses in preparing patients for surgery.
  • Count sponges, needles, and instruments used during surgery and assist in clean-up of the operating room using standard MTF policies.
  • Prepare operative specimens as directed, label, and deliver them to the laboratory, and move equipment to and from operating rooms as necessary for scheduled procedures.
  • Provide pick-up and delivery service for items such as blood gasses, supplies, specimens, and materials to support Operating Room needs.
  • Conduct inventory, determine need, order, obtain, receive, and store surgical supplies, and inspect and monitor stocking of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) crash carts.
  • Respond to CPR situations, acute respiratory problems, and other emergencies as needed.
Requirements
  • Certificate in Surgical Technology from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or certified as a Tech-in-Surgery (TS-C) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
  • Minimum of 1 year of full-time experience as a Surgical Technologist within the preceding 2 years, including experience assisting Main Operating Room surgeons.
  • Ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
  • Current AHA OR ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
Pay and Benefits
