Job Title: Commercial Engineering Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Engineering Manager to lead our commercial and engineering activities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing commercial leadership and direction for our Quality, Materials, Pricing, and Engineering groups to maximize customer satisfaction while meeting corporate safety, environmental, profit, and other business goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage current and future sales negotiations, program target setting, and final price settlements to meet business objectives.
  • Understand product costing and the process of creating quotes, as well as product manufacturing and processes that may impact quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Lead and support the development of business plans and sales strategies that ensure the attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Support P&L and working capital for product lines through direct accountability for LTA, price reductions, price rejuvenation, and organizational activities for VA/VE, inventory control, payment terms, and premiums.
  • Ensure proper customer information flow with respect to financial, delivery, and quality issues, as well as any purchasing-initiated information requests that affect customer satisfaction.
  • Support timely collections of accounts receivable upon escalation by collections group when resolution requires commercial negotiation.
  • Ensure personnel development is defined and maintained.
  • Comply with all company policies and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Continuously develop a position of influence with key customer decision makers, including all related groups.
  • Define, develop, and deliver engineering solutions in support of customer initiatives and business needs.
  • Provide leadership to all pertinent groups as an internal/external customer advocate to achieve the highest level of customer support.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of three years demonstrated leadership/management experience.

Preferred:
  • Masters Degree in Engineering/Business or equivalent.
  • Previous role with key OEM/Tier account; light vehicle, commercial vehicle, specialized product OEM related to agriculture, construction, or recreational sports.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments with high quality and on-time completion.
  • Thorough understanding of design and engineering disciplines.
  • IS/TS/QS9000 Procedures and Standards.
  • Engineering Standards.
  • Program and time management.
  • Microsoft Office software.
  • Cost reporting/reconciliation.
  • Skilled negotiator.

Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
  • Medium physical activity - ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • High level of initiative and works well in a team environment.
  • Able to manage stressful situations and deadline pressures.
  • Plans and executes responsibilities with minimal direction.
