Key Responsibilities:
Develop assembly strategies, create scope of work documents, design, test, and implement tooling and automation solutions.

Collaborate closely with external vendors and manufacturers to support the development, fabrication, and assembly of prototypes, pilot production, and the rollout of high-volume factory automation.

Integrate product design and components into an assembly process, whether manual or automated, while understanding how incoming processes impact the overall assembly workflow.

Document and refine assembly procedures, spare parts inventories, and preventive maintenance plans.
Prepare specifications for equipment and systems.

Collaborate with a team to determine process cycle times, efficiencies, yields, and relationships, including dynamic modeling as necessary for process and line balance evaluations.

(Arrangement, Rates, Balance, Yield, Capacity)Define the sequence of operations, material handling, and process control requirements, as well as the preliminary process layout whenever feasible.

Engage with the team on Product/Process Flows, PFMEAs, Quality Control Plans, and risk assessment initiatives.

Work collaboratively to identify critical product/process parameters related to product documentation standards and tolerances and their connection to process functions.

Assess safety and occupational health considerations for processes.
Provide cost and operational criteria through internal and external resources for the justification and acquisition of major tooling. (ROI)Recommend and implement cost-saving measures for established assembly processes.

Qualifications for Success:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical product drawings, understand technical procedures, and produce reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Capability to effectively present information and address inquiries.

Proficient in solving practical and technical challenges and managing a variety of variables in situations with limited standardization.

Skilled in solid modeling tools (e.g., AutoCAD)Experience with automation, PLCs, machine vision, and electrical controlsProject management experienceProficient in spreadsheet software (Excel) and presentation software (PowerPoint)Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleaguesAbility to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environmentSelf-motivated with the capacity to work collaborativelyExcellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to provide technical design and process insights related to product manufacturability, process and design costs, process risk assessment, and product capability evaluation.

Capability to analyze and troubleshoot equipment and identify root causes of assembly challenges.
