Job Title: Loss Control Field Representative

Job Summary:

A Loss Control Field Representative at Alexander & Schmidt performs on-site property, general liability, and incidental auto inspections to prepare reports for insurance underwriting purposes. These reports enable insurance companies to accurately insure commercial or residential buildings or properties for new policies or renewals of existing policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site inspections of properties to identify potential risks and hazards.
  • Prepare detailed reports of findings, including photos and diagrams, to be uploaded through a special website or completed on web-based systems.
  • Travel within a reasonable territory, typically within a 60-mile radius, to conduct inspections.
  • Collaborate with insurance underwriters to provide valuable insights and recommendations for risk management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their unique needs and provide tailored loss control services.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial insurance loss control or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of commercial property and casualty lines, including property, general liability, auto, and workers' compensation.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and recommendations.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and ability to learn new software and systems.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, OHST, ALCM, and/or ARM are preferred but not required.
