Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As a Registered Nurse in the NICU, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill newborns and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyzing data to create a plan of care and implementing evidence-based interventions.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care, including transfers and discharges.
  • Administer medications safely and efficiently, coordinating care within hospital departments.
  • Act as a patient safety advocate, participating in quality improvement initiatives to ensure a safe and high-quality patient experience.
  • Apply knowledge of contemporary obstetrical and women's health nursing practice to provide comprehensive care to women during pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and gynecological issues.
  • Provide care to newborns from birth until discharge, including triage, prioritization, assessment, education, stabilization, resuscitation, and emergency management.
Requirements
  • Current RN license in the state in which you are working or covered by compact.
  • BLS Basic Life Support certification.
  • NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification.
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Certification - National Certification Corporation.
  • Low Risk Neonatal Nursing Certification - National Certification Corporation.
  • 1 year of experience as a NICU RN.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience.
Working Conditions

Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. May be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse. May be required to use physical restraints. May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids.

Individuals in this position are required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment and devices, and learn the policies concerning infection control.
