Speech Language Pathologist Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in the Crown Point area. This position will involve working with students from kindergarten through 12th grade across multiple school buildings.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' speech and language needs and develop individualized education programs (IEPs).
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student success.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of services provided, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities to stay current with best practices and industry developments.
Qualifications:
  • For SLP: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology, current state licensure in Indiana, and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • For SLPA: Bachelors or Associates degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program, current state certification or licensure in Indiana as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to travel between multiple school sites, with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
