Position Summary:
The Clinical Dietitian collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver integrated patient care aligned with individualized medical objectives.

This role involves evaluating nutritional health, identifying dietary issues, and crafting, executing, and assessing nutrition care strategies for patients at risk.

Additionally, this position may provide specialized nutritional support to distinct patient populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough nutritional evaluations by gathering and analyzing data from patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  2. Organize and interpret data to connect nutritional assessments with diagnoses, determining when referrals to other specialists are necessary.
  3. Develop tailored nutrition intervention plans prioritizing evidence-based practices and assessing their effectiveness.
  4. Define care timelines and modify plans as needed based on patient progress.
  5. Monitor outcomes using relevant indicators and ensure alignment with intervention goals.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement and communicate nutrition care plans effectively.
  7. Provide nutritional education and counseling to patients, families, and the broader community.
  8. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
  9. Conduct training sessions and create educational materials for staff and patients.
  10. Act as a liaison among nursing and medical staff to enhance patient nutritional care and research opportunities.
  11. Participate in initiatives to measure and report on nutrition program effectiveness.
  12. Maintain accurate records of clinical activities, including scheduling and billing information.
  13. Engage in departmental meetings and interdisciplinary projects.
  14. Develop and oversee training programs for interns and students in nutrition and dietetics.
  15. May be involved in nutrition research and enter nutrition-related orders as per established protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Dietitian credential from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Current certification to practice as a Dietitian in the relevant state.
  • Preferred: Two years of clinical experience and training in Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE).

Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions, provide patient-centered care, and maintain effective communication with diverse populations. Knowledge of human physiology, nutrition-related order entry, and federal healthcare regulations is essential.

Work Environment:
This role may involve light physical activity, including lifting and moving objects related to patient care.
