Mass General Brigham seeks Registered Nurses to join our Internal Resource Pool (IRP). The IRP will provide flexibility in scheduling short- or long-term assignments within our Mass General Brigham Hospitals at a premium rate of pay. All positions will be placed in inpatient or long-term care units. For more information about this program, click here.

Job Summary

The clinical nurse is responsible for delivering competent, compassionate individualized nursing care for specific patients and families, including delegation to and supervision of non-professional clinical and support staff. They collaborate with the Nursing Director and members of the Patient Care Team to achieve efficient patient outcomes. They also collaborate with the patient toward meeting the needs and expectations of the patient and family. Clinical nurses ensure that care is safe, efficient, effective, timely, and meets the cultural, spiritual, and ethnic needs of each patient and family.

Responsibilities
  1. Provides competent, compassionate patient- and family-centered nursing care based on scientific principles and interdisciplinary teamwork.
  2. Cultivates a therapeutic environment for patients and families.
  3. Articulates the professional nursing role to the patient, family, and health team members.
  4. Identifies, plans, and implements nursing interventions, facilitates, and evaluates outcomes of nursing care for an individual patient or group of patients.
  5. Coordinates involvement of the patient, family, and health team members in patient care, including patient/family education, teaching, and discharge planning.
  6. Documents relevant patient data/information.
  7. Communicates the plan of care and other pertinent information to/from other health care team members. Promotes continuity of care through effective hand-offs.
  8. Helps define standards of excellence for patient care; participates in improvement of patient care services in a cost-effective way.
Requirements

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or REGISTRATIONS (if applicable): Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Specialty certification preferred.

Education:

  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • Minimum BSN Required
