Position Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist plays a crucial role in aiding patients in the recovery or enhancement of their swallowing, speech, language, cognition, and communication abilities through thorough evaluation and targeted treatment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
- State temporary license under the supervision of a Licensed Speech Pathologist for 18 months
- State temporary license while completing Clinical Fellowship Year or state license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Proven knowledge and skills to deliver patient care suitable for the served population.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with patients and their families.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other team members to gather and share patient condition information.
- Analytical skills to administer and assess standardized speech/language tests, conduct swallowing evaluations, assess patient capabilities, formulate treatment plans, and track patient progress.
- Proficient computer skills and the capability to process detailed information accurately.
- One year of experience in a hospital or home care setting.
