Preconstruction Specialist

Kimball Construction Co. is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing budgets, estimates, and pre-bid packages for construction projects. You will also develop relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment vendors to provide adequate resources to prepare competitive pricing proposals.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare budgets, estimates, and pre-bid packages for construction projects
• Develop relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment vendors to provide adequate resources to prepare competitive pricing proposals
• Perform technical/plan review when required
• Consider and understand problems, and identify appropriate solutions
• Develop knowledge in building designs, systems, and construction materials through available resources and use this knowledge in guiding the client to a viable alternatives/solutions to meet project requirements
• Ensure all data placed in the historical database is accurate

Requirements

• B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent work experience with 5+ years of preconstruction and/or operations experience on commercial construction projects or 8 + years of progressive equivalent work experience in a related field
• Knowledgeable in some or all of the following: civil/site construction, foundation and structural systems, interior finishes, exterior wall systems, mechanical and electrical systems, and the costs of these systems
• Must possess knowledge of structural concrete and shoring
• Possess good organizational and management skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills

Compensation

We offer an estimated annual salary range of $90,000 - $130,000 based on experience and qualifications. This figure may vary depending on location and other factors.
