The Mechanical Engineer III applies expertise in mechanical systems design to develop construction documentation for project stakeholders, ensuring ongoing professional support throughout the construction lifecycle.
This role serves as the key point of contact for coordination and communication between the design team and clients, providing project management oversight and professional guidance during the entire construction phase.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage project timelines and design activity communications between the design team and clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in preparing comprehensive proposals and engineering agreements in line with company standards.
- Produce mechanical systems design elements that align with project specifications in a timely manner.
- Conduct research to identify design options that meet project requirements.
- Select suitable equipment based on project type and specifications.
- Create accurate construction HVAC documents for permitting purposes.
- Perform precise load calculations and engineering project specifications within established project parameters.
- Execute QA/QC processes consistently and accurately.
- Coordinate projects with internal and external resources effectively.
- Provide timely consultations to manage project schedules, site surveys, and compliance with building codes and standards.
- Engage in post-design consultations and represent the company in client meetings until project completion.
- Oversee and mentor junior engineers and designers, ensuring their professional development.
- Facilitate timely billing of projects to the accounting department.
- Adhere to established work rules, policies, and procedures while striving for continuous improvement in processes and cost reduction.
A 4-year degree in engineering is required, with EIT and/or PE preferred. Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience, particularly in project management, and demonstrate knowledge of various HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Familiarity with engineering drafting standards, company design standards, and building codes is essential. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required, along with strong communication skills.
