Job Summary

The Gonzales Unified School District is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Clerk Substitute to provide administrative support to our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical tasks, including typing, filing, and data entry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the school office, including answering phones, responding to emails, and greeting visitors.
  • Perform a variety of clerical tasks, such as typing, filing, and data entry.
  • Assist with record-keeping and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Sort, index, and file materials, and perform other related tasks as needed.
  • Operate office equipment, including computers, printers, and copiers.
  • Perform arithmetic calculations and check records and papers for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with mailings, including preparing and sending letters and packages.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a clerical or administrative role preferred.
  • Ability to type accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Working Conditions

The Office Clerk Substitute will work in a school office environment, subject to sitting at a desk/computer terminal for long periods of time. May have a need to bend, crouch, and kneel, must have the ability to push/pull file drawers.
