Position Overview

This role is essential in delivering exceptional customer service by making a favorable first impression on guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests warmly, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated throughout their visit.
  • Assign seating and update the seating chart and point of sales system to optimize service efficiency.
  • Maintain clear communication with management and fellow staff regarding customer needs and feedback.
  • Oversee the reservation system, manage requests for new reservations, and effectively communicate wait times.
  • Address guest inquiries, special requests, and concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Provide detailed information about the restaurant, menu offerings, and current promotions.
  • Act with urgency, anticipating guests' needs and addressing them promptly.
  • Assist in training new team members.
  • Comply with all established procedures and policies to meet health and safety regulations.
  • Complete all necessary opening and closing tasks to prepare the restaurant for service.
  • Promote a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and reporting any hazards.
  • Foster a collaborative atmosphere and strive to exceed the expectations of both internal and external customers.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years old at the time of hire.
  • Food Handler Training and certification required within 30 days of employment.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required within six months of employment.
  • Prior experience in a casual or upscale dining environment is preferred.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and address customer concerns effectively.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset, dedicated to providing a positive dining experience.
  • Preferred experience in high-volume hosting.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
  • Team-oriented with a commitment to shared goals.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain productive working relationships.

Work Schedule: Variable schedule based on business needs, including weekdays and weekends. Shifts may vary.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate.

Work Environment: Fast-paced restaurant setting with frequent tasks and interruptions. This position requires working primarily indoors and outdoors, with exposure to various kitchen environments.
