Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Sonographer PRN to join our team at Platte Valley Hospital. As a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of ultrasound procedures to evaluate internal organs and vessels for the diagnosis of disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare exam rooms and obtain informed consent from patients
  • Review patient history and determine proper selection of protocols
  • Explain examination methods and position patients
  • Assess patient status and needs, complete diagnostic techniques/tests, and perform necessary interventions
  • Review and evaluate completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered
  • Coordinate preparation of images/exams and needed documentation for physician partners
  • Document and communicate patient-related information thoroughly and accurately
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or RCS - Reg Cardiac Sonographer required
  • New graduate hires must obtain registry within 18 months of hire
  • Health Care Provider Life Support certification is required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates degree preferred
  • One (1) year ultrasound experience is preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
