As a Nutrition Care Specialist at Christus Health, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive nutrition assessments and care planning for patients and residents with special needs. Your expertise will be essential in developing nutrition plans, ensuring the highest level of service quality, and promoting workplace diversity initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement nutrition plans, including specifications, methods, and timetables, tailored to patient and resident needs and status.
- Maintain the highest level of service quality by ensuring compliance with hospital standards and policies.
- Promote and support workplace diversity initiatives, fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect.
- Direct dietary care for patients and residents with special needs, including screening, assessment, intervention, care, and discharge planning.
- Educate medical staff and counsel patients/residents and their families on proper nutritional care, ensuring patient satisfaction and nutritional needs are met.
- Manage and promote food and nutrition programs according to hospital standards and policy, staying current with the latest nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Christus Health policies and procedures, including HIPAA/Privacy Act, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel.
- Establish operating standards, implement quality improvements, and communicate them to other departments.
