Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced cardiac electrophysiology office. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:- Provide front and back office support, including scheduling appointments, verifying patient information, and preparing charts for patient visits.
- Assist with medical procedures, including EKGs, Holter/CEM/MCOT heart monitors, and other cardiac-related tests.
- Screen and consent patients for remote monitoring of pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders.
- Perform phlebotomy and obtain vital signs.
- Refill prescriptions and obtain prior authorizations.
- Update patient medical records and maintain HIPAA compliance.
- Prepare charts for patient appointments and ensure proper documentation.
- Verify insurance and obtain referrals/authorizations for cardiac monitors and prescriptions.
- Check in and check out patients, answer multi-line phone system, and assist with medical questions.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to manage HIPAA and OSHA documentation.
- 1-5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office setting.
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- Driver's License (Required)
- EMR systems: 1 year (Required) Eclinicalworks
- Vital signs: 1 year (Required)
- EKG experience a plus
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Fast learner and ability to work efficiently and independently.
- Effective and professional communication skills with patients and physicians.
- Able to multitask and prioritize tasks.
This is a full-time or part-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:00 pm, with the option to work only Tues-Wed-Thurs (P/T). The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity while providing exceptional patient care.
Salary:$20.00 per hour.
