Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our quality management system consistently meets established requirements. This hands-on position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to manage programs effectively and identify opportunities for improvement.

This role has a substantial impact on our 'audit-ready' status and requires a proactive approach. The Quality Assurance Supervisor will be responsible for managing Quality team personnel, developing their skills, and assigning daily and long-term job functions to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop Quality team members, including hiring, direct oversight, guidance, and development support.
  • Collaborate with direct reports to set goals based on cascaded objectives and provide regular feedback through formal and informal mechanisms.
  • Assign daily and long-term job functions/projects to team members in addition to regular duties.
  • Evaluate daily records for completeness, accuracy, and approval to ensure finished product positive release.
Additional Duties
  • Analyze error rates, assist cross-functional teams with Root Cause Analysis activities, and implement process improvements.
  • Maintain the site document control program to guarantee active documents are current and accessible.
  • Monitor production areas for obsolete documentation usage and take corrective actions.
  • Support communication regarding packaging defects to vendors, Shift Managers, Operators, and follow up on corrective actions.
Leadership and Support
  • Coordinate raw material and finished product holds with cross-functional teams, including network hold alerts.
  • Create and manage rework/re-inspection protocols, including supervision, status tracking, and training.
  • Assist the Quality Manager with audit scheduling and coordination, ensuring site teams are ready.
  • Evaluate routine and specialized line audits and other inspection activities for correctness and documentation.
Quality and Continuous Improvement
  • Support inspection training activities, maintain sample standards, and provide test equipment support as needed.
  • Contribute to QMR report preparation across the site team, meeting coordination, record keeping, and CAPA follow-up support.
  • Provide general project support, department backup, and Pest Control program oversight as required.
Communication and Reporting
  • Compile data for weekly, monthly, and KPI reports for plant Management.
  • Collaborate with the plant Quality Engineer on data gathering and statistical analyses when necessary.
  • Review product trial documents with Corporate R&D and plant personnel prior to execution.
Change Control and Coordination
  • Manage Product Trial Requests for new products or changes to existing ones (i.e., batch recipes, corrugate, bottles).
  • Oversee the site Change Control program, ensuring all Quality-based requirements are communicated and executed timely.
  • Collaborate with HV Plant Departments to disposition finished goods in a timely manner.
  • Ensure quarantined or non-conforming product is properly labeled and contained until final disposition.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, or a related field required.
  • Five years of related quality experience in manufacturing, with supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership in projects/coordination.
Compensation

$80,000 - $110,000 per year
