Ferris State University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a KCAD Library Assistant. This student position offers a unique opportunity to develop research skills, work with library resources, and provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Circulation desk duties: assisting patrons, checking out library materials, and providing basic to mid-level research assistance
  • Sorting, organizing, and shelving library materials, including shelf reading and straightening library stacks
  • MeLCat duties: processing and packaging requests, sending and receiving deliveries
  • Processing, shelving, and straightening magazines and journals
  • General maintenance of the library space, including dusting, cleaning, and vacuuming as needed
  • Special projects as assigned, such as periodical bindery, item analysis, archives organization, and display design
Requirements:
  • Ability to work with computers and library-oriented software/management systems
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with students, faculty, staff, and guests
  • Ability to work around class schedules and be flexible with scheduling
