Goucher College seeks an experienced Capital Project Manager to oversee campus development initiatives, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of construction projects that align with the institution's sustainability goals and strategic vision. The successful candidate will lead a team of professionals in managing construction projects from planning to completion.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of all phases of construction, from planning to completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Collaboration with contractors, architects, and stakeholders to meet institutional goals and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Promotion of sustainable practices in construction and renovations to align with Goucher's commitment to sustainability.
  • Development of project scopes, budgets, and schedules; management of risks, dependencies, and critical path activities.
  • Servicing as the owner's representative for the college, working with contractors and vendors, monitoring project progress, reviewing cost controls, and providing regular updates to senior leadership.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, and at least five years of experience in construction or project management, including contract negotiation and oversight. Strong knowledge of design processes, local/state building codes, and project management methodologies is essential. Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software. Experience in campus environments, supervisory roles, and LEED accreditation are preferred.
