Space Ground System Solutions (SGSS), a subsidiary of Parsons Corporation, is seeking a full-time Cloud Operations Specialist. Our mission is to deliver innovative and practical solutions to intricate communication, command, control, and intelligence systems.

We are currently engaged in providing engineering support to the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) in areas such as:

spacecraft design, development, integration, and testing; satellite pre-launch, launch, and operational support; network design, development, and management; as well as terrestrial observation applications for naval field units.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet eligibility criteria for obtaining a DoD Secret clearance.
Must be a US citizen.
5-8 years of relevant experience.
Proficiency in creating application deployment tools using ansible, chef, puppet, terraform, packer, or similar technologies.
Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and experience in writing helm charts.
Hands-on experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux.
Familiarity with Podman and Buildah utilities for container creation.
Proven track record of collaboration and service-oriented skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with supported staff, management, and government clients.
A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and associated processes and tools.
Comprehensive knowledge of software engineering layers and system architecture.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in scripting languages (examples:
shell scripting, Python, PERL, etc.)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

Familiarity with software configuration management tools (examples:
git, BitBucket, Jira, etc.)
Documenting test outcomes for corrective measures.

Experience with databases (examples:
MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
Demonstrated experience in developing and/or deploying on cloud/virtualization platforms including RHV, vSphere, OpenStack, Kubernetes, etc.
Satellite Ground Systems, Ground System Operations, or Satellite Operations
