Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a cash register and electronic scanner to accurately ring up customer purchases
  • Process financial transactions, including cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment
  • Weigh and bag customer purchases with care and attention to detail
  • Understand and efficiently operate check-stand equipment, including the register, scanner, and scale
  • Responsible for front-end duties, such as merchandising and maintaining a clean and well-stocked department
  • Communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers, and model high standards of service to achieve a customer-oriented store
  • Comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, and product handling
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year of prior retail or related experience preferred
  • Good verbal communication skills and ability to interact politely and effectively with customers
  • Good customer service and organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required
Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and moving up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate is also required to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. The work environment is typically a retail store setting with varied temperatures and moderate noise levels.
