About the Job

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team at Springfield Public Schools, MO. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with mild to moderate disabilities.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the instructional program, facilitating learning within a high school classroom, and developing lesson plans to meet the individual needs of students. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administrators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with mild to moderate disabilities
  • Provide instruction and support to students in a variety of educational settings
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and assessments
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching practices and stay current on best practices in special education

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field required
  • Missouri Special Education certification in Mild-Moderate Disabilities required
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
