Position Title:
Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor at Aspire Nursing and Rehab of Sutherland

Position Overview:

The primary objective of the Nursing Supervisor role is to oversee nursing activities and operational functions for the entire facility during a designated shift.


Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Director of Nursing (or designated representative) and facility administrator to manage daily operations of nursing services and other assigned areas. Participate in the formulation, maintenance, and revision of written policies and procedures that govern the daily operations of the nursing department.

Ensure that reference materials (such as PDR's, Federal and State Regulations, etc.) are readily available at the nurses' station and kept up to date. Maintain a current copy of the Nursing Policies & Procedures Manual at each nursing station, reflecting the daily nursing practices at the facility.

Guarantee the availability of qualified RNs, LPNs, and CNAs to deliver high-quality care. Implement and uphold established facility objectives, in alignment with federal and state licensure regulations and nursing standards of practice.

Contribute to the development of comprehensive assessments of the nursing needs of each resident, as required. Assist the Director of Nursing or designee in identifying, evaluating, and classifying routine and job-related functions to ensure proper identification and documentation of tasks involving potential exposure to blood/body fluids.

Advise the Director of Nursing or designee on necessary equipment and supplies for the department, ensuring an adequate stock of medications, medical supplies, and equipment is consistently maintained on the unit.

Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident information. Assess staff competency during care delivery and provide education in individual, small group, and large group settings as needed.


Qualifications:

Must possess an RN Degree from an accredited institution or be a graduate of an approved RN diploma program. A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a staff nurse in a long-term care environment is required, with training in geriatric nursing practices preferred.

Prior supervisory experience in a similar setting is advantageous. Must hold a current, unencumbered, active RN license in this state.

Possess problem-solving skills and the ability to make independent decisions when necessary. Must be able to interact tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agency personnel, and the public.

Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care, is essential. The ability and willingness to work collaboratively and supervise other staff members is required.

Must be capable of planning, organizing, developing, implementing, and interpreting the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary for delivering quality care. Patience, tact, a positive attitude, and enthusiasm are essential, along with the ability to manage challenging personnel situations.

Must be able to communicate effectively regarding a resident's condition.
