About the Role:

CenterWell Home Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for patient care, responsible for administrative duties and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type
  • Manage the provider's schedule to ensure efficient workflow
  • Obtain and record medical history and vital signs
  • Room patients and assist healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments
  • Perform specimen collection and point of care testing
  • Prepare and administer medications under direction of healthcare providers
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience in 'back-office' direct patient care
  • Medical Assistant diploma or certificate of completion from a Medical Assisting program
  • Current CPR certification
  • Phlebotomy experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAMA, AMT, ARMA, MedCa, NAHP, NAHT, NCCT, NHA or AAH
  • Experience with HEDIS and ICD/CPT coding
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
  • Experience in a fast-paced/high volume environment
  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred
