Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) Department of Surgery. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research in the field of RNA-based components that underlie the molecular mechanisms that influence cell fate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and report research in the field of study under the supervision of a faculty mentor.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate complex research experiments following general technical procedures.
  • Work with the Principal Investigator to formulate research plans, coordinate project activities, and establish appropriate reporting procedures.
  • Contribute to scientific analysis and interpretation of projects.
  • Prepare manuscripts, meeting presentations, and perform background literature searches.
  • Make modifications to research procedures in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
  • Confere with the Principal Investigator regarding results obtained and receive suggestions for modification to procedures and/or interpretation of final data.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. with extensive experience in cell culture, molecular biology, genomics, and biochemistry.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, data analysis skills, and scientific writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
