Position Overview

The Registered Nurse will carry out essential nursing functions and assist with various responsibilities related to delivering patient care within a surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conducts patient interviews to gather relevant health histories. Maintains accurate records and prepares verbal reports. Supports the unit's objectives by leveraging relationships with individuals and the community to enhance understanding of health services. Prepares, administers, and documents medications. Monitors and records vital signs. Organizes materials and equipment in preparation for clinical sessions while ensuring adequate supply levels. Cleans and maintains clinical equipment, ensuring proper disposal of used supplies. Assists in the recovery and discharge processes for patients. Performs additional duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

Must possess a current state license as a Registered Nurse. BLS certification is mandatory. ACLS certification is preferred or must be obtained within six months of hire. A minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

Ability to observe patients' general physical conditions to identify signs of abnormalities. Proficient in recording operations accurately, clearly, and concisely. Effective communication skills, both in person and via telephone. Demonstrates tact, initiative, and sound judgment. Capable of multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities. Experience with intravenous medication administration.
