Job Summary:

Community Bank System is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Banking Officer to join our team. As a Commercial Banking Officer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining business relationships with commercial customers, providing sales information, and monitoring individual sales performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solicit new business from present and prospective customers
  • Maintain ongoing business relationships with present customers to take advantage of additional cross-selling opportunities
  • Provide sales information on a timely basis to be included in customer service and sales performance reports
  • Monitor individual sales performance versus objectives on a regular basis and discuss performance with the supervisor
  • Assist customers in obtaining specialized services from other bank departments as necessary
  • Approve or reject loan applications within individual lending authority
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank commercial products and services
  • Provide direct service to commercial customers with respect to deposit, loan, and other miscellaneous products and services

Requirements:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in related positions
  • B.S. or B.A. Degree in a related field preferred
  • Specialized banking education and training
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematic skills
  • Proficient interpersonal relationship, communication, and sales skills
