Job Summary

The Lead Technologist will play a pivotal role in the success of our clinical departments, ensuring high-quality imaging and efficient exam completion. This position will work closely with the Center Manager to provide leadership and direction, while also serving as an internal imaging expert.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creates a positive patient and customer experience by embodying the US Radiology Way
  • Operates scanning equipment safely and competently, obtaining high-quality images
  • Demonstrates expertise in following established scanning protocols and adapting as needed
  • Ensures patient safety by screening for contraindications and utilizing protective equipment
  • Performs computer operations, including Fuji and PACS, with accuracy and efficiency
  • Verifies proper charges and referring physician orders
  • Renders patient care in a professional and courteous manner
  • Prepares examination rooms for radiology procedures
  • Monitors inventory and maintains room cleanliness
  • Reviews exams for technical accuracy and completes verification process
  • Participates in quality standard compliance audits and collaborates on solutions
  • Provides support for accreditation activities and new initiatives
  • Acts as on-site leadership in the absence of the Center Manager
  • Manages training and onboarding of new technologists
  • Assists with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring
  • Monitors and approves timecards
  • Participates in technologist performance evaluations and development
  • Allocates job responsibilities and defines priorities
  • Escalates complex issues to the Imaging Lead
  • Assists with scheduling to ensure adequate department coverage
Requirements
  • Knowledge of company policies and protocols
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and safety guidelines
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
  • Knowledge of current technical skills and procedural understanding
  • Ability to operate and adjust scanning equipment
  • Organizational and prioritization skills
  • Effective communication and supervisory skills

  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and on-time approval to work

Education and Experience
  • Graduate of a 24-month AMA-approved School of Radiology Technology
  • 12 months of previous experience in diagnostic radiology or other imaging modality
  • ARRT certification in Radiology; advanced certification in CT or MRI
  • IV credentialed if applicable
  • BLS certification
