The Arc of Northeastern PA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Professional to join our team. As a Support Professional, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with Daily Living Tasks: Provide support with daily living tasks such as medication administration, personal hygiene, meal preparation, and personal attention.
- Implement Person-Centered Plans: Assist in implementing individualized service plans, including outcomes, prescriptive techniques, and medical needs.
- Provide Transportation: Safely transport individuals to community activities, job sites, medical appointments, and other destinations.
- Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure a safe and adequate home-like environment for individuals, including light housekeeping, laundry, and supply management.
- Encourage Community Involvement: Assist individuals in identifying personal interests and establishing community connections.
- Implement Behavior Support Plans: Implement consumer behavior support plans to promote positive behaviors.
- Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. One year of experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Special Employment Requirements: A minimum age of 18 is required. A valid driver's license is required. Ability to work in a drug-free workplace setting is required. A criminal background check is required.
Individual must be able to meet established physical requirements of the job, including lifting various weights, providing ambulatory assistance, and performing restraintive techniques.
