Job Responsibilities

This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a vehicle within predetermined routes. The driver must ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines. They are also required to detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards, maintain accurate records, load/unload freight, and perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Minimum of 9 months of verifiable driving experience
  • Pass a Ryder drug test
  • Have verifiable driving experience in like equipment
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Hold a valid driver's license
  • Able to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures
