Job Summary

MedStar Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Exercise Physiologist to join our team at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will be responsible for assessing and treating clients for pulmonary/cardiac rehabilitation, including bio/psycho/socio/spiritual needs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in exercise science, exercise physiology, or kinesiology, and be certified as a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP) by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).

You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop complex exercise prescriptions and assess the effectiveness of interventions. Your expertise will be essential in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our rehabilitation program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural dimensions, as well as educational needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized exercise plans to meet patients' needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Document patient progress and outcomes according to departmental protocols and standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, or kinesiology.
  • ACSM-RCEP certification or equivalent within 1 year.
  • CPR and ACLS certification within 90 days.
  • Pulmonary/cardiac rehabilitation experience preferred.
