Position Overview

Astria Health is currently seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Acute Care Unit team. This role offers a sign-on bonus and operates on a day shift schedule, requiring three days of work per week with every other weekend included.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Utilizing the nursing process to oversee and coordinate interdisciplinary care for patients across all age groups, including adults and the elderly.
  • Delivering personalized care to patients, families, and caregivers, demonstrating competence and knowledge relevant to the patient population.
  • Evaluating and implementing appropriate care plans based on established standards.
  • Providing education to patients and families to facilitate recovery and engagement in the care process.
  • Regularly assessing and documenting patient progress and responses to interventions.
  • Coordinating care activities with other healthcare team members.
  • Ensuring the accurate and efficient execution of physicians' orders.
  • Communicating promptly regarding any adverse or sudden changes in patient conditions.
  • Recognizing and reporting adverse drug reactions.
  • Effectively managing patient pain and utilizing blood products as necessary.
  • Safely and efficiently operating patient care equipment.
  • Collaborating effectively across organizational boundaries.
  • Adhering to the core values and standards of the organization.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • A current RN license in Washington State.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within three months of hire.
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENCP) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within one year of hire.
  • Fluency in both oral and written English.

This position is classified as safety-sensitive, meaning that impairment while on duty poses a significant risk.
