We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Resonetics. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for performing complex financial analysis, preparing financial statements, and reconciling accounts. You will also be responsible for maintaining the fixed asset system, bank account reconciliations, and preparing journal entries.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Analysis: Perform complex general ledger month-end/year-end reporting and reconciliations using Excel to manage and manipulate data.
- ERP Systems: Have a solid understanding of ERP systems and how transactions flow and impact the relevant subsidiary ledgers and general ledger.
- Accounting Functions: Work collaboratively with the Finance team to perform general accounting functions, including preparation of journal entries, account analysis, and supporting schedules with high transaction volume.
- Balance Sheet and Income Statement Analysis: Perform a thorough analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts, including recommending and executing correcting entries, raising potential issues for discussion, identifying problem accounts, analyzing balances for accuracy and completeness, and proposing accrual or deferral entries as appropriate.
- General Ledger Allocations and Divisional Reporting: Partner with FP&A to develop general ledger allocations and divisional reporting.
- Fixed Asset Ledger: Maintain the Fixed Asset ledger, including set up and closure of projects, record depreciation, and reconcile accounts.
- Discrepancies and Accruals: Follow up on and remediate any discrepancies in a timely manner and record various accruals for accounts payable and payroll-related items.
- Reconciliations and Filings: Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and clear out old items, where necessary, to ensure each reconciliation stands on its own. Prepare multiple state sales and use tax filings, local property tax reports, and US Government census reports.
- External Audit Requests: Assist with external audit requests, acting as liaison to external auditors.
- Process Improvement: Process map existing processes and provide recommendations to the Assistant Controller to streamline or eliminate work.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 3-5 years of financial analysis and/or accounting experience, with a working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- ERP Systems and Excel: Proficient with the use of ERP systems and ability to pull detail data to support account analysis. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Advanced proficiency in Excel is required.
- Cost Accounting and Variances: Good understanding of cost accounting and variances.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, with little supervision, in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of flexibility and tolerance of change.
- Organizational and Analytical Skills: Outstanding organizational and analytical skills.
- Professional Demeanor and Teamwork: Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Multi-Tasking and Flexibility: Ability to multi-task and work with increasing transaction volume with a high degree of flexibility and sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
