We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Design Engineer to lead the development and qualification of next-generation process technologies at leading semiconductor foundries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess advanced CMOS and memory technologies to drive internal technology roadmap discussions and selections.
  • Evaluate and select foundry processes for Tenstorrent based on Performance, Power, and Area (PPA), Cost, and Time-to-market.
  • Drive strategic engagements with partner foundries on Design Technology Co-Optimization to ensure foundries meet process development and qualification schedules.
  • Review and analyze foundry Process Design Kits (PDKs) and design collaterals for accuracy and quality.
  • Conduct Ring-oscillator Sims and early PPA assessments to provide technology/scaling trends and set competitive technology targets and differentiated roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with design teams to optimize processes for improved PPA and ensure optimal yield and binning strategies to enable high volume manufacturing.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of related experience is strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in optimizing PPA for high performance and low power designs.
  • Hands-on experience with simulation, synthesis, block and chip level implementation with industry standard PnR flows and tools.
  • Prior experience working on high performance technology nodes and understanding of deep sub-micron design problems/solutions.
  • Prior experience working with Foundries is a must.
  • Cross functional experience working with pre and post silicon design teams is a plus.
