Family-owned enterprise in search of a skilled Class A CDL Lowboy Operator

We are in need of a proficient equipment transport driver to move our heavy construction machinery. Responsibilities will encompass loading and unloading equipment independently, preparing machinery for safe transport, utilizing proper tie-down techniques, and proficiently attaching and detaching from a hydraulic gooseneck lowboy while navigating public roads with oversized loads. Experience with end dump trailers is advantageous as our tractors are also used for this purpose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, potentially up to 10 hours daily (generally Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays)
  • Consistent attendance at designated work locations
  • Conduct safety inspections as mandated by DOT to ensure that all mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is operational – report any issues to the company
  • Load and unload trailers as necessary
  • Ensure loads are secured correctly and within weight limits
  • Maintain regular communication with the company regarding trips, delays, and issues
  • Adhere to all DOT regulations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications for CDL Class A Lowboy Operator

  • Valid Class A CDL License
  • Experience with lowboy trailers
  • Clean driving history
  • Must comply with the medical standards set by the U.S. Department of Transportation
  • Successful completion of background checks and drug screenings

Education and Certifications

  • Current Class A Driver's License
  • Current DOT Physical and Medical card (must obtain if not currently held)
  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in loading and unloading heavy machinery
  • Air brake endorsement

Additional Requirements

  • Overtime may be necessary; weekend work may be required
