Breastfeeding Specialist

Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, is seeking a highly skilled Breastfeeding Specialist to join our team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits.

We are looking for an experienced lactation consultant with a strong background in breastfeeding support and education. As a Breastfeeding Specialist, you will work closely with new mothers and their families to provide comprehensive lactation care and support.

• Perform comprehensive lactation assessments of mothers and their infants within the hospital setting
• Provide evidence-based information on medications, alcohol, tobacco, and addictive drugs that may impact milk production and child safety
• Conduct bedside lactation rounds daily and document encounters in clinical databases
• Consult with mothers experiencing breastfeeding difficulties and refer them for breast pump rentals and supplies
• Develop and deliver in-service education programs for Labor and Delivery nursing staff, residents, and OB/GYN providers

• Qualifying Clinical License
• International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification
• 3 years of lactation experience, including 2 years inpatient experience
• Basic Life Support certification

• Competitive salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience
