Key Responsibilities
  • Provides clinical support to providers and patient care team, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and administering injections.
  • Performs clerical duties, such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Assists with implementing the medical plan of care, ensuring smooth patient flow and workflow within the department.
  • Integrates education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to gain confidence and cooperation from patients, their families, and other healthcare providers.
  • Works independently and as part of a team, prioritizing assignments and meeting deadlines.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Completion of a course of study consistent with the requirements for Medical Assistants as specified by the Medical Board of California
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
  • 1 year of recent relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • MA Certification by a California Medical Board recognized agency
  • Equivalent Sutter Health Training program
