Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Critical Care Nurse Specialist to join our team at Health Lakeside. As a vital member of our Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

About the Role

The Critical Care Nurse Specialist will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to adults with complex medical conditions. This may include patients who have been admitted through the Emergency Department or require close monitoring due to cardiac, stroke, or other serious conditions.

You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, and perform various medical procedures as required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and communicate effectively with families and other stakeholders
  • Administer medications, treatments, and perform various medical procedures as ordered by physicians
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, progress, and outcomes
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practices
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current RN license in the state of practice
  • At least 1 year of experience in critical care nursing, preferably in a PCU setting
  • Knowledge of BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care and teamwork

Location and Work Environment

This position is based at our Health Lakeside facility, located in a scenic area within 50 miles of major cities. Our modern hospital features state-of-the-art equipment, comfortable facilities, and a strong focus on patient satisfaction and employee well-being.
