Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CDL Driver to join our team at BWI Companies. As a Driver, you will play a critical role in meeting our customers' needs and ensuring the safe transportation of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive tractor-trailer combinations and straight trucks to transport and deliver products.
  • Frequently interact with customers to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
  • Follow safety and placarding procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform trip, vehicle, and equipment inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service and repair to ensure accurate records.
  • Obtain delivery receipts/signatures and collect payment when required.
  • Check load documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Correctly maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions.
  • Properly secure cargo for transport.
  • Read invoices to determine assignment details.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, and damage to vehicles or property.
  • Read and interpret maps to navigate routes.
Requirements
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Have a High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Have a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) 'A' & 'B', with Haz-Mat and Tanker Endorsement.
  • Have at least one-year CDL driving experience.
  • Have a clean MVR with less than 3 moving violations over three-year period.
  • Be able to pass DOT physical & DOT drug screen.
  • Have no DWI / DUI convictions within the past 5 years.
