Job Overview

Landus Cooperative is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Operations Technician. This role will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our outside agronomy and grain operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Greet all customers promptly and courteously, providing exceptional service and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Agronomy and Grain Sales: Maintain and increase agronomy and feed sales, grain origination and marketing with existing customers and grow business with new customers, as applicable.
  • Elevator Operations: Assist in all aspects of the elevator operations, if applicable to location, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
  • Grain Handling: Receiving and unloading grain operations, grain drying operations, measuring grain inventory on a weekly/monthly basis, and grain train loading operations including cleaning and sealing cars.
  • Facility Maintenance: Keeping facility clean, safe, and housekeeping records current, maintaining grain condition by testing temperatures and blending.
  • Fertilizer and Chemical Operations: Assist in all aspects of the fertilizer and chemical operations, if applicable to location, measuring inventory and reporting it to the supervisor, and assisting in unloading bulk and packaged product.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair equipment as needed, pumping bulk chemicals into customer tanks, tendering to applicators, and filling NH3 nurse tanks during season.
Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Seasonality: Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.
Preferred Skills
  • CDL Endorsements: Be able to obtain a Class A CDL with air brake, tanker, and HazMat endorsements.
  • DOT Physical: Participate in company DOT drug and alcohol program and maintain current DOT physical.
  • Computer Skills: Good computer skills.
