Refrigeration Mechanic

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team at Illinois State University. As an Extra Help Refrigeration Mechanic, you will perform a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of refrigeration systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all duties peculiar to, and normally required in, the trade of Pipefitter, following recognized procedures and techniques for such work.
• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose and repair problems with refrigeration equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment.

Requirements:

• Certificate of completion of apprenticeship as a Pipefitter under a registered Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training program OR Experience sufficient to qualify as a journeyman Pipefitter, with a minimum of 5 years of actual work in the trade.
• Universal Certificate of CFC Qualification (EPA 608 Technician Certification Program).

Work Environment: This position will work on campus, performing tasks in a variety of settings, including laboratories, classrooms, and administrative offices.

Salary and Benefits: The salary for this position is $45.55/hour. Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the University's supplemental retirement savings plans (403b).
