Pharmacist Intern Job Description

This position is a pharmacist-in-training and as such may, in the execution of their job and under the direction and supervision of a pharmacy preceptor, perform all the duties of a pharmacist except the final check of medications.

An intern (in conjunction with a pharmacy preceptor) is responsible for helping to assure that patients receive safe, efficient, cost-effective drug therapy and for providing clinical drug information to physicians, nurses, patients, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications
  • Provide clinical drug information to healthcare professionals
  • Participate in patient care activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of pharmaceuticals and their uses

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Washington Pharmacist License or Registration
