Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Core Laboratory Lead to join our team at the University of Arizona Cancer Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Flow Cytometry and Immune Monitoring Shared Resource laboratory, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety in our research endeavors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement research lab policies and daily Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex scientific equipment, including flow cytometers and other apparatuses
  • Manage purchasing, maintenance, and handling of lab equipment and supplies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Communicate with investigators about project design, project status, timeline, budget, and deliverables
  • Oversee billing for completed projects using iLabs
  • Train and supervise laboratory personnel, ensuring they maintain current knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment operations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in immunology or biological sciences, or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Experience in cancer immunology/immune profiling or complex molecular biology techniques
  • Experience with multicolor flow cytometry
  • Proven project development and execution experience
  • Experience with academic research
