Responsibilities of a CNA:

  • Care for patients' personal and hygiene needs in facilities such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, RNs, LPNs, and aides to deliver excellent patient care
  • Assist with daily needs such as bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, eating, and nutritional intake
  • Help with ambulation, transfers, and range of motion exercises
  • Monitor patients' vitals, intake/output, and blood glucose levels, and document any changes
  • Notify supervisors of issues requiring a change in care, medication, or equipment

Requirements for CNAs:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and active Nursing Assistant Certification in Minnesota
  • Minimum of 1 year of CNA experience in a medical facility
  • Knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws and regulations
  • Compassionate nature, good communication skills, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
